This is a game that we played at Kenesserie Camp. I credit my brother with creating it.
I Got the Gimo is a simple game with no props or equipment needed.
Two teams are trying to score on the other teams goal while holding the Gimo.
The Gimo is an imaginary object that one team member holds and runs with.
You know that a team member has the Gimo when they have their hand raised in the air with a closed fist and they yell, “I’ve got the Gimo!”
There is only one Gimo.
You can steal the Gimo from the other team by tapping the person who has the Gimo and then raising your hand in the air with a closed fist and yell, as loud as you can, “I’ve got the Gimo!”
You can pass the Gimo to a team member by tapping them, then they must raise their hand in the air with a closed fist and they yell, “I’ve got the Gimo!”
You cannot steal the Gimo from someone on your own team.
This is not a contact sport – no physical blocking of people to protect the Gimo.
No fake Gimo’s – that’s just not nice playing.
When a team successfully touches the other team’s goal with the Gimo – award a point and do another round.
I think that does the explanation – it is a simple and fun as it sounds.
If you have questions – let me know.
