I go to many conferences. I have gone to many and will go to many more.
Buckeye Leadership Workshop (www.buckeyeleadership.com) is unlike any other conference I have ever attended.
I just got back from Buckeye last night. It is a 5 hour drive from my camp to Ashley, Ohio – but it is a trip that I will make every year – just to be in the atmosphere that is Buckeye.
How to explain…
- everyone knows your name
- everyone is happy to see you
- ideas are overflowing so learning new things is impossible not to do
- meet new people from across North America
- live together, sing together, learn together
Jim Cain bugged me for years saying that I should go. Everytime he saw me he kept bringing it up in conversation. So in 2007 I made the trip down to Ohio and have not looked back. I have been attending for four years now and got elected to the planning committee last year. This year I lead a couple of sessions – “Creating a Culture of Success” and “A Trunk Full of Possibility”. It was another successful year.
I’m tired, need to recover on some sleep over the next few days, but what a great time. Set aside the dates for next years workshop – March 23 – 27, 2011. Visit www.buckeyeleadership.com to stay up-to-date and become a fan on facebook at: www.facebook.com/buckeyeleadership
If I had to choose one place to learn and be a part of the community that is created – Buckeye Leadership Workshop would be the one I would choose each time.
