Create Something – Week 2 – Music

So it is another Saturday night and the end of week number 2 for 2012.

This was an interesting week in creating something. When I first thought of this project I had wondered what types of things I could create each week. I did not want to limit myself to doing one thing 52 times – so I started a list and ideas have been coming.

I have many hobbies – music being one of them. This week I knew I wanted to create a recording to share. I struggled a bit in my mind with what “create” means – I created the song and the original recording and now the MP3 to share. I did not “record” it this week, or “write” it this week – but I did create something this week that can be shared…

This week I have created an MP3 of an original song of mine titled “Pretty Lady” (right-click to download). It was recorded in 1999 and has been sitting around for 13 years, occasionally heard but not released to the public.

“Pretty Lady” was one of the first songs I wrote – it came into being sometime between 1992 and 1996 while I was at Lakehead University.

This is a song that I play during down times at camp during the summer – staff actually request it – now they can have it for their own and so can you.
