Joe’s Notes –
- How to Learn – what is the best way to get staff to learn – different people learn differently
- What is the most important thing to pass on?
- Remove theory – no lectures (15 minutes only of talking)
- Should be more tips and tricks vs lectures – speak from experience
- Focus on three (3) things
- Never ask if they have questions at the end of a session – have them write down questions and have them submit them and take a portion of the day – maybe just after diner – to answer the questions that come up during the day.
- The point of staff training is for staff to retain information taught.
- Ways for people to grasp the learning – Journalling, Group Discussion, Role Playing
- Questions to ask when planning:
- Do they need to know this?
- Why does this staff member care about this information?
- What did you learn today?
Just thoughts as we worked through the podcast.
Thought I would share – have a listen and let me know what you think.
