Thursday Camp Song – The Crocodile Song

There are lots of actions for this song too – no video yet.

She sailed away on a bright and sunny day,
On the back of a crocodile.
“Tee-hee,” said she,
“He’s as tame as tame can be,
I’ll ride him down the Nile.”

The croc’ winked his eye,
As she waved them all good-bye,
Wearing a happy smile.
But at the end of the ride,
The lady was inside,
And the smile was on the Crocodile.

  1. Can anyone give me a idea of the actions that go with this song?

  2. Here is my best try to write the actions out:

She (use hands to create curvy figure) sailed (use your fingers to draw the shape of a boat) away (point away) on a bright and sunny day (use one hand to make a sun and move in a circular motion) on the back (touch your back over the shoulder) of a crocodile (use both arms fully extended to make a crocodile and clap hands together a couple of times).

“tee-hee,” (hands in front of mouth) said she (curvey figure), “He’s as tame as tame can be (pet one hand with the other), I’ll ride him down the Nile (back straight, bend knees so it looks like you are riding a horse).

The Croc’ (hand’s out and making croc mouth) winked his eye (use your hand to make a big wink infront of your eye).
As she (curvy figure) waved them all good-bye (wave good bye). Wearing a happy smile (draw big smile with fingers in front of mouth). But at the end (slap your bottom) of the ride (horse motion) , the lady (curvy figure) was inside (point at stomach) and the smile (draw a big smile) was on the crocodile (arms).

    Hope that helps

  3. I have sung this song my whole life. You put your hands on top n each other, with thumbs sticking out on either side, like paddles.

You see said she he’s a tame as he can be – stroke your like petting a cat.

But the crock winked his eye – wink with your hand near your eye
As she waved them all goodby – wave hand
At the end of the ride – swivel your hands to palms together, open them up like an aligator mouth and clap twice at the end.
