Start Now & Create Change

We can become so use to the camp we lead. Or the school that we are in. Or the life we have.

When we become complacent in what we do or how we live – that is when others pass us by. There is a great chance that you will not excel if you just accept.

Change is something that I have built into our culture of camp. Change is something that is ongoing and needs renewing. How can I ensure that the change I make today will be the same change that I will need 2 years from now. Change is about looking for what works in this moment – living that and then evaluating to see what will work into the future.

2015 is a year of change for me. I am focused on my health in 2015. I have always been a big guy – 6’3″ and have topped out at around 330lbs. I have been down around 300lbs for the past year and as low as 270lbs in the fall of 2013. I feel that all of those weights are too much for my body to handle long term. I want to ensure that I’m around to see my kids grow up and to have the energy to run summer camp for many more years.

My goal this year is to get down to 220lbs. I am following an eating regiment based off of the book Eat to Live by Joel Fuhrman. I am exerscing with my wife 4 to 5 times a week using bodyweight exercises to start.

I plan on adding new knowledge each month as the year goes by. The important thing to remember for me is that this is a long term goal and right now I am only 7% into my goal – as I plan to have this accomplished by the end of the year.

Start now and create change. In a year you will wish you had started.
