Day 10 – Camp Director Check In – Cookout night

Just got done with an afternoon swim – swam with the wilderness crew and some Rainbow campers.

Cookout and sleepout nights have just begun.  Every Tuesday night we have our cabin groups cookout over the campfires and sleepout at various spots around camp.  It is a great way for campers to get to know the out of doors, see the stars and grow closer together.

Did you know that the average person in their lifetime only see’s two shooting stars?  Many of our campers will see numerous shooting stars on sleepout night.

I have great memories of sleepout night from growing up – sleeping in the tree fort at the camp I grew up at, sharing stories, shouting “There Ain’t No Flies On Us” through the woods to other cabin groups.

Sleepout night brings many memories and this summer it will make many more.
Dreaming of camp,
Joe
